Position Overview
The Fort Zumwalt School District is seeking motivated FZSD high school students enrolled in the educators pathway courses to join our Special Education team as Apprentice Paraprofessionals. This unique opportunity allows you to gain hands-on experience working with special needs students while earning a US Department of Labor apprenticeship certificate and building a career in education.
This apprenticeship provides a stepping stone toward a career in special education while making a meaningful difference in students' lives. Essential Duties
- Assist special education teachers in classroom activities and instruction
- Support students with special needs in their learning and daily activities
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Participate in implementing student Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Document student progress and behavior as directed
- Assist with classroom organization and material preparation
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment in educators pathway courses
- Excellent attendance record
